Memorial park, Meadowbank is a lovely nature-inspired playground on the banks of the Parramatta River. It’s a really tranquil setting with views of the river, picnic areas with a playground, war memorials and bushland areas.
It is well shaded with trees meaning it’s not too hot in summer and the kiddies are partially protected from the sun (of course we still need hats and sunscreen!).
The park is best suited to kids 2 to 8 years of age. There is a junior slide and steps for the little kids along with junior style swings. For the older kids, there is climbing, slides, swings, balancing, an awesome water pump, ropes, cubby houses and more.
Memorial park has 2 shaded seating areas, with each area having 2 sets of tables. There are also 2 different BBQ locations and no coin needed! It’s a push start, and they are in very good condition. It would be a great place to host a party, although the toilets are about a 1-2 minute walk away (near the station).
The playground is surrounded by lots of grass area and down towards the water, there is a paved walkway that will take you along the river and by the mangroves, great for bikes and scooters.
Importantly, there is a toilet block close by, which is in decent condition. Hallelujah!
This is a fantastic park for the kids! So great we use it every year as the venue for our RDM Easter Egg Hunt! You won’t regret heading down here, there is lots of fun to be had and lots of room for everyone. If you would like to host a party there make sure to book out one of the pavilions on the Ryde Council website.
Memorial park is located off Meadow Crescent along the Parramatta River. There is plenty of street parking and it’s very close to the train line which is great if you’re meeting someone who doesn’t drive.
