Eastwood Blessings Early Learning and Preschool

New owners, new interiors and exteriors and ready to take children 2-6 years, Eastwood Blessings Early Learning Preschool is now ready to take on new families as of just a few days ago! We visited to check out the centre and share our findings.

History

The centre itself is one of the oldest established childcare centres in Ryde, approved to operate in 1964 so there’s a lot of history there – they’ve actually kept some of the toys that maybe grandma and grandpa played with and one day will create a small historic corner to showcase them!

New Owner and Staff

Owner Sylvia has been an early childhood educator for more than 15 years and is currently an early childhood teacher at TAFE NSW, meaning she has loads of experience, and her passion remains as strong as ever. Eastwood Blessings is her second centre so she understands the importance of having the right staff. Enter Daniella, originally from Korea, who speaks Korean, Esther who hails from China and Leanne who is 100% Aussie.

Renovation

For those who were familiar with the centre before, you won’t recognise it now! It’s been closed for a few months, having undergone extensive renovations (state of the art), and looks fabulous! They welcome you to visit for a tour.

Family First

Priding themselves on being a smaller, and more homely centre, their focus is on the individual needs of each child and on family over profit. They’ve chosen to operate below approved capacity so they can provide above-ratio care for each child.

Outdoor Area

Another aspect they’re particularly proud of is that they believe in growth via connection to nature and surroundings – an example being that the government mandates 7 m2 per child in outdoor areas, whereas Eastwood Blessings has a giant area that – at full capacity – is still able to offer 17.5 m2 per child! You’ll be really impressed by their outdoor area and the view from the outdoor balcony is one to die for with unencumbered bush views.

Education

Guided by the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – ‘Being, Belonging and Becoming’ – and the National Quality Framework (NQF), Eastwood Blessings has developed an environment that allows for intentional teaching and spontaneous learning. This enables your child to develop lifelong skills of inter-relating, resilience, empowerment, social competence and independence.

  • Provide an environment that allows children time to learn through play – to explore and take part in a variety of learning experiences.
  • Supports all aspects of your child’s learning and development – identity, community, well-being, learning and communication.
  • Physical environment reflect the lives and cultures of the children who use the service.
  • They offer several programs such as yoga, art and cooking classes and are planning on expanding these by partnering with more businesses in Ryde.

Fees

Fees are currently $150 for 2-3 years old / $140 for 3-6 years old and includes 5 nutritious meals, incursions, excursions, opening hours of 7.30am-6pm and first-class education and childcare.

Logistics

Located at 125 Vimera Road, Eastwood, parking can be found onsite. Pickup and drop-off are contactless within the facility via electronic sign-in kiosk. Parents have access to a platform where they can monitor their child’s daily routine, see what they’ve been up to, what they’ve learned and how much they ate/slept.
