Vitaland Kids Cafe Eastwood is the newest kid on the play cafe scene. Located in Eastwood in one of the new buildings just near Glen St Car Park, it caters to kids from 6 months to 7 years old.

Your kids will love a visit to Vitaland Kids Cafe Eastwood – there’s heaps for them to do! They also have a great food and drinks menu – not just for kids but also for adults. As you enter there is an extensive shoe storage wall where all shoes must be left as no shoes are allowed inside the play cafe. Additinally, socks must be worn by adults and children – if you forget them, you can buy them there.

The Set Up

Vitaland has an awesome set-up – there is a small area for babies who are not yet walking with several interactive wall activities situated at the right height for sitting or crawling babies along with some soft toys within a soft fall ground area that has a slight lip so babies are safe in the space. We really liked that the activities were on the wall as it means the bigger kids can’t move the baby things out of the area and it means your baby always has something to do! For parents, there is seating just outside this area.

For toddlers and above there is so much to do! In the 2 upper levels accessible via a small staircase (yes adults fit), kids will find several racks of dress-ups, magnetic fishing, a real working digital piano, hair and make-up station, kitchen and cafe area, grocery shopping and more. On the ground floor kids can enjoy being a mechanic to repair the car on the hoist car, little ride-ons to drive around (and of course fill up with petrol at the station) – all before they venture over to the main attraction.

Spread over 3 levels, the kids will love climbing and exploring, starting in the free-play ball bit or interacting with the digital wall. There are lots of hidden corners all with new activities for kids to do such as mazes, tunnels, swinging and bouncing zebras, moving log swings, the large vortex-style slide and more. This main area is surrounded by tables so you keep your belongings nearby or supervise if you have slightly older children.

Face Painting

Once a month on the weekend, Vitaland Kids Cafe Eastwood offers free face painting and balloon art. On our recent visit, we found it to be a very well-organised activity – you simply visit the face painter to get a number and then they call your number when it’s your turn. This means your child can play and have fun and there are no long lines!

Parties

You can hire the party room or hire the whole venue for your party. The party room is very impressive and the kids will feel very special here! They also offer weekday and weekend prices. They offer packages for small parties (under 8 kids) and larger parties of 25 kids. Party packages include food (for kids and adults), decorations (balloons), unlimited use of some games that are normally at a charge and more. See their party packages here (scroll down to the bottom to download their brochure). Email them about party enquiries here.

Extra Touches

The team at Vitaland Kids Cafe Eastwood are working to improve their offering even more. They will hold small group painting lessons from term 2, 2024 to be held once a week, with approximately 10 lessons per term.  (once a week, approx 10 lessons per term). From the July 2024 school holiday, they are also aiming to offer 2-3 day art camps. Vitaland Kids Cafe Eastwood are also aiming to expand our curriculum to children with disabilities in the future.

Any suitable bottles or cans are recycled and the money raised is donated to Neuroblastoma Australia. This is a wonderful charity that we have worked with and fundraised for in the past. Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer and survival rates for the aggressive types are around 50%. Children diagnosed with neuroblastoma are on average just 2 years old. Neuroblastoma Australia has 3 main objectives which are:

  1. To raise awareness of neuroblastoma childhood cancer and increase the understanding and the need to support research in this area
  2. To raise vital funds for outstanding cancer research into the development of better, safer treatments for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma now and in the future
  3. To provide information and support to those affected by neuroblastoma

There are prices for children 6 to 12 months and then 12 months plus. Kids 8 to 12 years old are welcome to support and play with their siblings. There is also a fee for adults. Entry options include 1 or 2-hour or all-day passes. As of April 2024, entry prices are as follows:
