Lebanese food done right is a beautiful thing and we were grateful to enjoy such beauty on our recent visit to Cedrus Lebanese Restaurant. Located on the riverfront at Ryde Wharf, the peaceful setting is perfect for a long lunch. Better yet, it’s perfect for a group get together where grazing from their delicious banquet menu will make for a fuss-free meal and an opportunity to try all the yummy options they have on offer.
Since opening 8 years ago, this family business has consistently provided authentic, delicious and satisfying meals to Lebanese food lovers around Sydney. They take great pride in their food preparation and each dish is beautifully presented. The tang of the Fattoush and Tabbouli, the work-of-art dips, tender meats, perfectly fried Falafel and delicately spiced potatoes are an absolute must try! Children with simpler tastes can enjoy chicken skewers (de-skewered for safety ;p) and chips – that is, of course, if they have any room left after all the bread and dips!!
On weekends, it’s banquet menu only, which is the perfect way to enjoy a bit of everything the restaurant has to offer. Live music provides a lively atmosphere for diners following the arrival of a belly dancer at around 8pm to get the party started! Kids will love having a dance and learning some new moves.
The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating (the outdoor is sheltered and they have heat lamps for cooler weather) and even has argileh (also known as the hubbly bubbly or hookah) for those willing to try!
Cedrus is also an incredibly popular venue for functions, from christenings to 90th birthdays to work Christmas parties. Their set up works perfectly to accommodate very big groups and the belly dancer adds a special touch to the event. Over the last eight years, they’ve hosted hundreds of functions so you can rest assured they know what they’re doing!
Who doesn’t love a great Lebanese meal in a family friendly and FUN location? Cedrus is a must try! Make sure you say hi to owners Joanne and Marcus when you pop in – they’re lovely, as are their attentive and accommodating staff.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm – 3pm and 5pm – 10pm

Getting there
Cedrus Lebanese Restaurant is located at 1/100 Belmore St, Ryde. The maps say it’s in Ryde but we totally think it’s Meadowbank! Parking is available on Belmore Street, Parsonage Street and in the carpark off Rothesay Avenue.
Ryde District Mums were hosted by Cedrus Lebanese Restaurant but these written thoughts and feelings are all our own.
