So school holidays are just around the corner (What already? Yes I know and feel your pain – we just started Preschool this year instead of daycare and you think 10 weeks is a long time but it is not, still feels like the first day, 25th Jan!). Anyway enough raving on, what can you do that is fun and cost effective with your little darlings?
Here are a few local and fun ideas!
1. Visit to Ryde Aquatic Centre – yes there is an entry fee but kids under 5 are free with a paying adult. There is a lot to do there and if you take your own lunch it can be a busy day for the kids (aka early to bed that night & you can relax!). For more information visit:

2. Trip to Blaxland Riverside Park – if you haven’t been this is well worth a trip. There is lots to do for kids of various ages, umbrellas to sit under to enjoy your lunch, a kiosk for the all important ice block and a water play area (be warned, there is sand there too!). It’s not too far from us has good parking during the week (even in school holidays. But beware, Saturdays are crazy, best to avoid!!)

3. Check out your local library! There are lots of classes/things on for kids such as creative fairytale writing (cost is $8 for 1.5 hours), slimy witch cauldron fun for $3 and lots more.
