City of Ryde is hosting 2 awesome events and they’d love you to join!

Have a blast at their epic Australia Day event and enjoy Lunar New Year celebrations in Eastwood.

 

Ryde’s Backyard BBQ

City of Ryde is putting the barbie on at Ryde’s Backyard BBQ this Australia Day! Come on down to Meadowbank Park for some fun in the arvo from 4pm -9pm on Thursday, 26 January.

Be one of the first 1,500 people to arrive and get a free sausage sizzle! Food trucks will also be available onsite.

Keep the kids busy with a variety of free activities including free craft activities, free face painting, live entertainment, and free skate workshops or let the kids play in the regional playground. The family can also enjoy sports activities such as the cricket tournament.

Enjoy roving entertainment – Spin Joy the hula hoopists and our Australian Bouncing Kangaroos will be making appearances too!

There’ll be live performances from Bananas in Pyjamas, Hoot & Hootabelle and Jess and Matt as well as Meet and Greets from Bananas in Pyjamas and Hoot and Hootabelle!

End the day with fireworks at 9pm. See you there!

Australia Day is a day to reflect on our past, accept the truth of our history, respect that we all have a contribution to make to the Story of Australia and celebrate being part of a diverse and multicultural nation.

Eastwood Lunar New Year Festival

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with City of Ryde on Saturday 4 February 2023.

This family-friendly event is sure to excite all ages with special Lunar New Year performances, Peter Rabbit

Live Kids Show and meet & greet, amusement rides and a variety of market stalls and food trucks at Eastwood Oval between 3pm and 9pm.

Don’t miss out on the God of Welath and Third Prince, Lion Dancing and High Pole, free face painting and grand finale fireworks at 9pm!

A spectacular display of fireworks will close out the night to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit!
