Science in the Swamp, Centennial Parklands

Science in the Swamp is Centennial Parkland’s yearly one-day science festival for all ages and part of National Science Week. Watch scientists at work and join them in many hands-on activities. Experience the science behind all things you see, hear, feel, and taste.

We start with the dinosaurs from Gondwana times that will roam the lawns. You will be able to touch them and see how they moved and behaved.

Our Maritime Museum on Wheels will drag you under the ocean and introduce you not only to sharks but all kinds of underwater fauna.

Ever wondered where your food came from – join our food scientists and they will show you what happens in the process of making it.

Sydney’s universities will bring out their newest technologies and you can experience them first hand. All our exhibitors will bring their labs out for you and show their work.

And the best is – they all prepare hands-on activities that you can join and help them.

Grab your picnic blanket and jjoin us for an amazing day full excitement, smoke, and bubbles!
