A brand new 2,000 sqm state-of-the-art playground has just been unveiled at Darling Harbour, doubling the size of the existing playground and designed to cater for children and teenagers. Check out our Instagram Reel here.

The $10 million development is made up of two areas: the Bay, with a series of decks, ramps and bridges and the Wave, with higher-level ramps, climbing towers, and slides as well as plenty of seating and shade.

Darling Harbour is the third most visited destination in NSW – with an estimated 27 million visitors annually.

These reinvigorated spaces will improve the experience for those visitors and more than 28,000 residents in the CBD and 13,000 in Pyrmont.

This new section is a welcome addition to the already popular Darling Harbour Playground, the original section of which features:

• amazing water play area with water pumps, streams and jets
• water scoopers and screws and dams
• spiders web climbing frames
• giant ring swing and long swings
• sandpit with sand digger
• supernova roundabout
• a long 21 metre flying fox
• balance ropes
• tunnels to explore

You’ll also find toilets, bubblers and plenty of seating around the playground.
