About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Programs Coordinator to join our team in Northern Sydney on a fixed-term part-time basis. This is a 2 day per week position with the requirement to work Friday’s and flexibility with the other day. You will work with a friendly and supportive team to achieve PAC’s Mission in a manner consistent with PAC’s values.

As a Community Support Worker, you will be responsible for coordinating PAC’s Community Programs with a focus on Targeted Earlier Intervention for children, young people, families and communities within NSW who are experiencing or at risk of vulnerability. The primary focus of the role is to coordinate our community programs; be accountable and responsible for the highest care standards and functioning of the service; achieve timely business outputs; and contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of systems. The objectives of this role include;

  • Meeting the needs of families, children and young people early to prevent the escalation of vulnerability
  • Enable families to access support early in the lives of their children and young people
  • Assist to address early any risk factors that lead to child abuse, neglect and domestic and family violence
  • Co-ordinate and delivery of the Multicultural Mothers Group program
  • Assist with the coordination and development of Community Support programs including food relief and Christmas hamper program
 
About you
As the successful candidate you have an understanding of, and empathy with, the needs of consumers. You are a problem solver, have excellent time management skills and a natural communicator with the ability to work with adults and children. You also have a Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent skills and experience.
 
Desirable criteria
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge in Contemporary Community Services setting
  • Understanding of the relevant legislation and program guidelines relating to TEI community service operations
  • High focus on customer service commitment
