If you were to ask in our Facebook group for a recommendation for a women’s physio, West Ryde Physiotherapy is consistently mentioned multiple times—and for good reason. They specialize in pre and post-natal care for women. That’s how I first heard about West Ryde Physio during my pregnancy in mid-2023 while searching for a physio. After seeing so many mums recommend Annie and her team, I decided to visit them for some hip pain in late pregnancy. I continued seeing Annie postpartum and recently even tried clinical Pilates (read more on that below!).

West Ryde Physio stands out with its beautiful Art Deco features, colourful walls, and custom artwork, giving it a homey feel rather than a typical clinic vibe. It really makes a difference! Worried about bringing your child along? No need. The spacious rooms can accommodate prams, and there are toys for kids, plus change table facilities in the large bathroom.

Meet the Owner and Local Mum Annie Beaudoin

Annie (aka an angel) has been running West Ryde Physio since 2017. With many years of experience in busy sports physio practices, she has worked with rugby teams, tennis players, and professional dancers. She holds a Clinical Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Sydney University and is a Titled Physiotherapist, signifying her extensive experience and qualifications. After starting her own family, Annie expanded her expertise into Women’s Pelvic Health, where she has been practicing ever since.

Physio Run Classes

West Ryde Physiotherapy offers small, tailored exercise sessions inspired by various approaches, including clinical Pilates. All exercise and rehab groups are led by trained and accredited physiotherapists.

You’ll be guided by injury-focused professionals, and there’s a range of mums and bubs classes, so you can bring your baby or toddler along.

Doing exercise doesn’t get much better than this! View the class timetable here.

Pregnancy Class

You can join West Ryde Physio’s specialised pregnancy Group Physiotherapy & Exercise Class for a fun and safe workout. Prenatal exercise with a Physio is one of the best and safest forms of exercise for pregnant women. During pregnancy, special care is needed as your body is adapting to a growing tummy. Prenatal class helps improve the strength and function of your pelvic floor and core muscles as your body changes. All pregnancy classes are led by accredited and highly experienced female physiotherapists. New participants will be first assessed by our physiotherapists.

Mums & Bubs Post-natal Class

They offer 6-week postnatal group physiotherapy programs for new mums, suitable for those who have had either a C-section or vaginal delivery and have completed their 6-week medical check-up. These classes are perfect for busy mums looking to get back in shape while enjoying the company of other new mothers. Your baby will be within arm’s reach during the session, either on a mat or in their pram nearby.

New mothers will benefit from specific exercises:

  • Strengthening your core muscles
  • Pelvic floor training and advice
  • Improving your back and neck strength to meet the high demands of motherhood
  • Relaxation techniques to help you recharge your energy
