Whether you’re after breakfast, morning tea or lunch, this artisan bakery has you covered with fresh bread, gourmet produce, Will & Co coffee and plenty of sweet treats.
Its freshly baked croissants remain a local favourite, with almond, chocolate and other tempting varieties frequently appearing in the pastry cabinet.
Choco Cannelle, Ryde

French-born chef and owner Jean-François Perron has been keeping traditional artisan baking alive in Ryde for more than 25 years.
Using traditional French techniques, he creates exceptional pastries, cakes and beautifully warm, crisp croissants. Arrive early, as the croissants are known to sell out quickly.
The patisserie generally trades in the mornings and is closed on Mondays, but its limited opening hours can vary, so check before visiting.
Boronia Bakehouse, Hunters Hill

Boronia Bakehouse is a longstanding neighbourhood favourite known for its pies, cakes, cupcakes, pastries, coffee and breads.
Its croissants are well worth adding to the order, while the bakery’s much-loved vanilla slices are difficult to walk past.
Maggio’s Pasticceria, North Ryde

Maggio’s brings a taste of Italy to North Ryde with an impressive selection of cakes, biscuits, breads and pastries.
The bakery already had a loyal following at its original Cammeray location, and its North Ryde store is a great addition to the local bakery scene.

Toppings, fillings and flavours aplenty—Top Impression produces some of the most Instagram-worthy pastries around.
Everything is made fresh daily, with croissant options ranging from traditional favourites to inventive creations such as its signature matcha custard croissant.
The Ugly Bakery, West Ryde

This unassuming local bakery is no longer much of a secret. The Ugly Bakery offers a rotating selection of rustic, handmade pastries, with its croissants, cinnamon scrolls and coffee all attracting a loyal following.
The bakery currently trades Tuesday to Sunday from 6am–2pm and is closed on Mondays. Signage has also appeared suggesting another location may be coming to Melrose Central.
Little Red Bakery, Ermington

This small artisan bakery is a true hidden gem. Its pastries are made using cultured butter and specialty flour, resulting in beautifully flaky layers and plenty of flavour.
The bakery has limited weekly trading hours, so check before making a special trip.

Located opposite West Ryde Station, this Korean-style organic bakery makes breads, cakes and pastries using ingredients including organic flour and eggs. Their flat croissants are a very unique must-try, along with the wide variety of Korean-inspired breads and pastries.
Wind & Flour Café, Liberty Grove

Wind & Flour specialises in freshly baked pastries and cakes, including classic and almond croissants.
You’ll also find mini croissants, sweet pastries and the bakery’s savoury croissant dogs.
La Vigne Bakery, Eastwood

La Vigne combines classic bakery favourites with Korean-inspired flavours and desserts.
Its extensive selection includes croissants, freshly baked breads, cakes, doughnuts and pastries. It’s also known for its Einspänner coffee—a creamy Viennese-style coffee that pairs very nicely with something buttery and flaky.

Conveniently positioned near the Yallamundi light rail stop, At Jen Bakery Café serves freshly baked croissants with wonderfully crisp, defined layers.
The café also offers coffee and a selection of breakfast and lunch dishes.
