The Blak Markets will celebrate its fifth birthday back where it all started on Bare island at La Perouse with a Christmas market on Sunday 16 December.
The Markets are a great opportunity to showcase authentic and unique gifts, with all of the profits going back into Aboriginal communities. They are also a great way of featuring the arts, crafts, foods and performances of one of the oldest living cultures in the world.
The Blak Markets will run from 10am till 4pm and entertainment for the day includes cultural dancing by the Yaama Boys and singing by Charlie Trindall along with weaving workshops with Auntie Karleen Green. Entry is $2.50 with children under 5 free.
This Blak Markets takes place at Bare Island within the Kamay-Botany Bay National Park with the support of the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service.
