Golden Grove, Bicentennial Park, West Pymble

This HUGE park has recently undergone a big makeover and the result is pretty special! You’ll find Golden Grove playground inside Bicentennial Park at West Pymble, very well hidden beside the Ku-Ring-Gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre.

Golden Grove is separated into 2 main play areas and has a beautiful nature theme. The top area is best suited to under 5s. Here you will find:

  • Sand pit with digger and water play area
  • merry-go-round
  • microphones (one person/child at each one and you can talk to each other!)
  • cubby house
  • musical play area
  • climbing structure with stairs, a slide and interactive stations

The lower area of the playground is best suited to 5 – 10 year olds. Here you will find:

  • short but fast slide – 4 kids wide!
  • climbing spider frame
  • swings
  • wooden balancing beams and bridges
  • teepee cubby house

There is also a great inclusive swing in the centre of the playground, which has a plastic bar/harness across the front that clicks into place and a latch that needs to be pulled to unlock it.

Much of the playground is shaded thanks to the beautiful mature trees spread around the park. The ground is a mixture of soft fall and bark with plenty of pram / scooter friendly pathways in between and around the play areas.

There is lots to see and do at Golden Grove, so make sure you pack a picnic, the soccer ball, water bottles, hats and a blanket and settle in for a great time. There is a cafe at the aquatic centre should you need a coffee, tea or a snack (don’t forget your keep cup)!

Getting There

Turn into the driveway for the Ku-Ring-Gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre from Lofberg Rd, West Pymble and follow it all the way down. The park is down beside the rock face/grass area to the left of the Aquatic Centre when looking at it from the front.
