Discover Parramatta’s rich cultural history at City of Parramatta FREE event, Foundation Day with family activities, tours, workshops, live music, great food, and horse and carriage rides!
This event takes place at the Parramatta North, site of the Female Factory and Parramatta Girls Home, so you can learn something new about the past as you explore the buildings and workshops.
There will also be tours offsite at Mays Hill Cemetery, St John’s Cemetery, Hambledon Cottage (Harris Park) and Brislington Medical & Nursing Museum Tours (Parramatta CBD).
Activities and workshops on the day include:
- Welcome to Country and Jannawi Dance Clan performance
- Female Factory Friends and other guided tours
- Workshops
- Horse and Carriage Rides
- Blacksmith demonstrations
- Vintage cars and tanks
- Family-friendly activities and yard games
- Live music
- Food stalls
