If you’re like us, you keep promising to take your kids ice skating but just haven’t got there! These school holidays City of Parramatta is hosting the perfect family-friendly ice skating event called Winterlight so you can finally make good on your promise!
Winterlight is back at the heritage-listed Prince Alfred Square from Friday 6th July to Sunday 22nd July and is on during the day and the evening (10am – late) so you can go at a time that suits you and your family. The event will feature not only ice skating for all, but also a dedicated kids ice rink (with kanga helpers so kids can skate independently), rides, free kids activities, food, music and so much more.

So what exactly is on offer?
Aside from the main skate rink and kids skate rink (for under 12’s only and accompanying adults must wear shoes), there are heaps of other fun activities on offer as well.
There are loads of rides including the classic carousel, and of course the jewel of the venue – the stunning illuminated Ferris wheel. Sure to please all ages, the Ferris wheel will show you a unique view of Winterlight plus the Parramatta area.
There is also the 30m ice slide that the kids will definitely want to go on! Ride are 2-4 coupons – you can buy a single coupon for $2 or 20 for $19 (buy bulk deals online).
As for food, you’ll find plenty of options from homemade soups, pizza, curries, Dutch poffertjes and handmade chocolates. Yum! To make the mood perfect, live music performances by Paramatta’s Live and Local musicians will be the perfect accompaniment to your meal during Village Sessions.

3. 2 for 1 Tuesdays, 11am-4pm
Enjoy the magical experience of Winterlight with two for one deals on ice skating tickets, amusement rides and food. Kangas are not included (they are $10 extra).
Getting There
