Riverglade Reserve Playground, Gladesville

posted in: Parks & Playgrounds | 0

Opened in November 2021, Riverglade Reserve Playground in Gladesville is an inclusive “Livvi’s Place” playspace, resulting from a $200,000 contribution each from the NSW Government and Hunters Hill Council.

This nature-themed playground was developed in collaboration with the Touched by Olivia Foundation, with design input from students of Villa Maria and Boronia Park Public Schools. Notably, it is the first inclusive playground within the Hunters Hill Council area.

Features of the playground include:

  • Multiple slides and climbing structures
  • Various swings
  • Pathways throughout the playground
  • Full fencing for safety
  • Water and sand play areas
  • Merry-go-round
  • Climbing ropes
  • Double flying fox
  • Balance beams
  • Talking cones
  • Tunnels for climbing and hiding

The playground is designed to be accessible for children with mobility needs, featuring a secure seating flying fox. Additionally, wheelchair-accessible toilets and parking are available on-site.

Beyond the playground, Riverglade Reserve has a fantastic walking and cycle track that loops around the entire reserve (approximately 1.5km), making it ideal for scooters and bikes. Set along the stunning river, the reserve also features two large soccer pitches available for booking, and it’s a popular spot for dog walkers.

Finally, if you’re there during the right season, you might notice the thousands of bats that roost in the Riverglade trees. It’s a very interesting sight indeed! Although we’ve come to understand locals aren’t thrilled with the night noises or bat poo on their cars!

Getting There

Riverglade Reserve playground is located on Manning Road, near Tarban Street, Huntleys Cove. There is some dedicated parking available nearby.
