Registration NOW OPEN: Holy Cross Rhinos Junior Rugby League Club

The Holy Cross Rhinos Junior Rugby League Club is welcoming new players from Under 6 through to U18s.

Holy Cross Rhinos is a community and family-focused club and for over 60 years have centred themselves on quality coaching from the very youngest players to their Seniors. In 2023 they are introducing all-girls League Tag teams. League Tag rules are the same as Rugby League, however it is non-contact.

Girls League Tag – Free registration and gear!

NSWRL have advised that for season 2023 Blues Tag will be even age groups, U12, U14, U16, U18 and Open Age.

The girls will play in a combined competition with St George, Parramatta, Canterbury and Eastern Suburbs, however if there is enough interest in U10s and U12s, competition will be against the Balmain district.

Registration is FREE and includes your playing kit (jersey and shorts). Training will likely be once a week at Holy Cross College (Day/time to be arranged by Coaching staff/Team). Games will be played on Sundays.

Below is a summary of game rules for each age group.

Boys and Girls Tag and Tackle

Holy Cross Rhinos has availability in teams from Under 6 to Under 18s.

Players receive professional technical training in how to tackle and play safely as per the NRL’s TackleReady program.

The TackleReady program allows participants to learn correct and safe techniques, preparing them for the tackle version of Rugby League. The six-session program is delivered by accredited NRL TackleReady deliverers and aims to increase player confidence and physical competence in all tackling situations.

Rhino’s coaches- which include ex NRL players, are trained by the NRL and receive ongoing guidance to ensure that Rhinos players learn to play safely and have lots of fun in the process. Registration is still open for the 2023 season

Games are held throughout the Balmain district, with alternate weeks played at Home- Holy Cross College, Ryde. Training also takes place through the week at Holy Cross.

Active Kids Vouchers are accepted for registration, so if your child has ever been interested in Rugby League, click here to register and search Rhinos to be a part of not just another sports club, but a family friendly community.
