Hunters Hill Medical Practice: Meet The New GP’s

Hunters Hill Medical Practice has been providing personalised healthcare to the community for over 150 years. They offer comprehensive general practice, specialist care and allied health services to meet patient needs. They are also the 2019 winners of the AGPAL excellence award, a tri-annual, national award from the accreditation body for General Practice!

Many of the GPs at Hunters Hill Medical Practice have been with the practice for decades, but some have joined more recently. Here’s an introduction to 3 of their newest team members including details about their history and clinical interests.

Dr Pooja Rastogi

MD BMed SCHP CWH

Senior GP Registrar

Dr Pooja Rastogi is a senior GP registrar, completing her final training with the HHMP team.

Pooja grew up and went to school on the North Shore. She completed her Bachelor Of Medical Science from the University of Sydney in 2013 followed by a Doctor Of Medicine in 2017 through The University of Wollongong.

She proceeded to train at Royal North Shore Hospital gaining experience in a range of surgical and medical specialities including emergency medicine, geriatrics, colorectal surgery and paediatrics.

Dr Pooja Rastogi further developed her skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a Senior Resident Medical Officer at Westmead Hospital in 2020 where she completed a Certificate in Women’s Health (CWH). She has also done extra training in paediatrics completing the Sydney Child Health Program (SCHP).

Pooja enjoys the full breadth of general practice and treating patients of all ages. Her special interests include women’s health, sexual and reproductive health, paediatrics and dermatology.

Outside of work, Pooja enjoys playing all sports but especially swimming, squash and Pilates. She loves to travel and is an enthusiastic foodie who enjoys dining at new restaurants with family and friends.

Clinical Interests

In addition to general medicine, Dr Rastogi has a special interest in preventative health care, as well as paediatrics, women’s health and sexual health.

 

Dr Christopher Lam

B Med (UoN), Cert. of Skin Cancer Medicine

GP Registrar

Dr Christopher Lam (Chris) is a senior GP Registrar with experience across multiple city and rural practices. Chris graduated from the University of Newcastle and completed his hospital years in Hornsby Hospital, Northern Beaches Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the Sydney Adventist Hospital. Since then he has worked across various general practices around Northern Sydney and in Orange. Chris also works with the Newcastle Nights Rugby League Team as one of their game day doctors.

His interests include paediatrics, men’s health, musculoskeletal injuries, sports medicine, dermatology and the cardiorespiratory disease.

Chris lives locally and enjoys the great outdoors and can be found hiking, kayaking, snorkelling and scuba diving.

Dr Zoneia Wong

FRACGP, MBBS, BSc (Psych), DCH

GP

Dr Zoneia Wong is originally from Vancouver (Canada), where she attended the University of British Columbia and obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Zoneia subsequently moved to Australia where she completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney.

Dr Zoneia Wong completed her internship and residency at the Prince of Wales Hospital and her GP registrar training in Nowra and Moss Vale; she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015.

Zoneia’s additional qualifications include a Diploma in Child Health and a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.  Having also completed the Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Zoneia is passionate about providing traditional General Practice care and looks forward to assisting you with all of your healthcare needs.

When Zoneia is not working, she enjoys doing outdoor activities with her family and, on occasion, falling for Netflix binge-worthy shows.

Clinical Interests

Dr Wong enjoys preventative health, chronic disease management, Aboriginal health, men’s health, sexual and reproductive health, paediatrics, aged care, palliative care.
