RDM Visits: Courtyard by Marriott Sydney, North Ryde

by Jacqui Owens

Jess and I had been talking for ages about going away together for an RDM planning meeting when the Courtyard by Marriott Sydney in North Ryde reached out to us to invite us to stay a night at their lovely hotel.

We immediately said yes and even decided to bring some of our kids, crossing our fingers that we still got some RDM planning done. Spoiler alert – the kids were brilliant and we got loads done.

As you can imagine, Hotels are the type of businesses that have been hit really hard by COVID, with loads less business travel, zero conferences and business parks effectively going into hibernation.

After staying a night there, there’s so much we want to tell you about the Courtyard Marriott but we’ll boil it down to three main points.

This is the perfect location for RDM relatives and friends to stay

Being so close to so many amenities including the train station, Macquarie Centre, venues like The Governor Hotel, Lane Cove National Park and Sydney Olympic Park, your family members will feel super central but also only 10 minutes away from you! The Courtyard is perfect for families as the Double Bed rooms can take a maximum of 4 PLUS some are interconnecting rooms.

AND if you mention Ryde District Mums your booking will come with a complimentary bottle of champagne on arrival! Nice one. 🍾 🥂

The Hotel has an excellent COVID safe plan which you can read about here.

They have a brilliant restaurant (+ 50% off coupon!)

We dined as 2 adults and 2 kids at their in-house restaurant called Bistro and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience. We really recommend it as a great place to take your parents, go with friends or on a date night. Meals are substantial and very tasty.

Best of all, they’re currently doing a deal via The Fork website on the à la cart menu which we reckon is definitely worth jumping on. Get 30% off the menu on Saturday evenings and a huge 50% off on Thursday and Friday nights!

Opening Hours

  • Breakfast – every day 7-9 am
  • Lunch – Thursdays and Fridays 12-2 pm
  • Dinner – Thursday, Friday & Saturday

They have excellent facilities for functions, both indoor and outdoor

Think christenings, engagement parties, 70th birthdays and all the other types of parties. How about this gorgeous outdoor BBQ area they’ve just completed – very COVID safe and perfect for Spring / Summer. The restaurant can also be hired out exclusively. For more info visit their website

Thanks so much for having us Courtyard Marriott! We had a great stay and every single staff member was exceptionally lovely!
