If you’re looking for easy and stress-free swimming lessons for your children, where familiarity and a bit of room to stretch out are important to you, North Ryde Fitness + Aquatic Swim School is waving a big hello to you!

Located at 3 Julius Avenue, North Ryde amongst the offices in the business spark, North Ryde Fitness + Aquatic is like a tranquil oasis hidden neatly at the end of the cul-de-sac.

On a recent free-trial visit for my daughters 4 & 6 years old, we immediately felt right at home in the zen-like surrounds of their swim school. There is a certain nostalgia about North Ryde Fitness + Aquatic pool, fondly reminding me of my own childhood swimming lessons! It definitely gave me the warm-fuzzies!

The heated outdoor pool is 25m and is available for both junior and adult swimming and while not covered by shade sails, the mature surrounding trees gave us great coverage in the afternoon sun.

The Swim School

Their Learn to Swim program is headed up by a lovely Ryde Mum called Amanda Carruthers, who has been teaching swimming for 15 years in between having 4 children. My children took to her immediately and she had a great teaching style – Amanda knows her stuff!

She explained to me that the 30 minutes classes are designed to promote water familiarisation, safety, correct stroke technique and personal development which accurately aligns with the Royal Life Saving, Swim and Survive program.

They offer swim classes from preschool age (3-5years) all the way up to squad levels (12+) and they offer school holiday intensives as well. For more information about class times click here.

Free Access to the Pool

We absolutely loved that as an added bonus, all participants of the swim school program have FREE access to the swimming pool outside of their lesson time along with 1 x adult for the duration of the season. So if you’re game, you could do laps at the same time as your child learns to swim OR at the very least you could come back with your kids on another day of the week to splash about.

Parking and Accessibility

I want to mention the parking because it was really easy and plentiful which is not something we can say very often anymore! It’s also pram-friendly starting from the carpark going all the way to the pool – a big win.
