Kidz on Porter in Ryde has just reopened its newly renovated outdoor play areas, and there’s plenty to love. We’ve always appreciated their outdoor space, especially since much of it is sheltered by the level above, allowing kids to enjoy fresh air and outdoor play regardless of the weather. We’re excited to share more about the renovations and what Kidz on Porter can now offer your child.
NEW Outdoor Spaces
The outdoor spaces at Kidz on Porter are split into a 0-3 year old section and a 3-5 year old section.
What’s on offer for 0 to 3 year olds:
- Sand pit
- Bike/scooter track
- Age appropriate slides
- Ball play
- Large scale lego bricks
- Mirrors and chalkboards
- Balance beams
- Mini tables and chairs with changing activities
- Soft play tunnels and blocks for climbing
- Series of ‘mini hills’ covered in soft fall for climbing and playing on
- Various stations with changing activities such as sensory play, mini toy cars and trucks, musical instruments
What’s on offer for 3 to 5 year olds:
- Under cover track with crossing and bridges for scooters and bikes
- Water play
- Large sand pit
- Cubby house
- Various ‘cars’ that fit multiple kids for fun imaginary play
- Large clear screen for kids to draw and write on
- Herb and veggie garden
- Stages and teepee for imaginary play
- Large play structure consisting for climbing wall, soft fall hills, platform and slides
- Climbing frames
- Plants and Flowers Garden
Kidz on Porter Team
Kidz on Porter has been proudly family-owned and operated for over 15 years. The current management team, in place for more than 11 years, ensures knowledgeable staff and consistency for your child. Every day, a director or member of the management team is on-site from 7am to 6pm. The Kidz on Porter team includes:
- 7 Early Childhood Teachers on site
- All staff Early Childhood trained ranging in experience of up to 15 years
- All staff have current First Aid training, Child Protection training and WWCC
- Inclusion Support Mentor on site
Daily Meals
Kidz on Porter provides five nutritious meals daily, served on-site from a rotating four-week seasonal menu. The meals are freshly prepared each day in their industrial-sized kitchen. During our tour, we were impressed by the fridge stocked with fresh fruit and produce. Kidz on Porter also accommodates allergy, dietary, and cultural requirements, and their menu is Munch & Move approved.
Rooms, Daily Costs and Inclusions:
River Room – 0-2 years – $180
Ocean Room – 2-3 Years – $175
Rainforest Room – 3-4 Years – $170
Desert Room – 4-5 Years – $170
Daily fees include 5 on site cooked meals her day, hat, dedicated School Readiness Program, extended opening hours from 7 am to 6 pm, daily updates via OWNA app, Weekly Growfit lessons for 3-5 years and monthly incursions based on children and family interests.
Preschool Program and School Transition
Kidz on Porter offers both a play-based program and a dedicated preschool program for children starting primary school the following year. The preschool program is thoughtfully developed by their ECT team in collaboration with Kindergarten transition teachers, ensuring children are well-prepared for their first year of school.
Families receive monthly observations, semi-annual checklists, and detailed developmental summaries, along with school transition statements for every child, keeping you informed every step of the way. Kidz on Porter also provides comprehensive school transition support, including networking with local primary schools, assisting with reports, and allowing access for allied health professionals, school support, and families on-site.
Daily Program
At Kidz on Porter, children benefit from a weekly program tailored to their interests, needs, and developmental stages. The centre prides itself on incorporating family and community input. Families can enjoy daily journals and monthly observations to stay connected with their child’s progress. For each child, Kidz on Porter collaborates with you to achieve age-appropriate milestones, set children’s goals, and meet family expectations. They also conduct quarterly goal-setting sessions with families and educators, using “All About Me” and daily routine forms to support each child’s development.
Start Strong Fee Relief
Kidz on Porter is pleased to participate in the NSW Government’s Start Strong Affordable Preschool initiative, which provides fee relief for eligible families.
This program aims to make preschool more affordable and accessible for children in the two years before school.
Families with children aged 4 years old on or before 31st July could save up to $2,110, while families with 3-year-olds may save up to $500.
The fee relief is evenly distributed throughout the year and applied directly to your weekly statements, making quality early childhood education more affordable than ever.
Orientation
Upon enrolment, families have the opportunity for free Orientation sessions prior to commencement. Families are welcomed into the service to learn about the daily running and share their children’s interest/goals and routines with educators prior to starting to ensure a smooth transition.

Kidz on Porter provides convenient underground parking with lift access to the center via secure entry. Inside, you’ll also find dedicated spaces for pram and scooter parking. Even better, they’re only closed on public holidays!
