There’s a new playground and bike track to explore with the upgraded Majors Bay Reserve in Concord opening! This $5.5 million transformation, funded by the NSW Government in collaboration with the City of Canada Bay, has revitalised the reserve into a vibrant community hub.
🌳 Highlights of the Upgrade
Inclusive Playground
Designed for children of all abilities, the new playground features
- towers with slides
- flying foxes
- swings
- a water pump
- sand digger
- sensory play elements.
- Natural materials like timber, rope, and boulders create an engaging environment for imaginative play.
The Shed – BMX Pump and Jump Park
Catering to riders of all skill levels, The Shed offers junior and intermediate tracks. Constructed with input from BMX professionals, it provides a safe and exciting space for young enthusiasts.

Outdoor Youth Space
The reserve now includes multipurpose sports courts, handball courts, seating areas, and landscaped zones, perfect for teenagers and young adults.
Changing Places Facility
Enhancing accessibility, the new facility is equipped with an adult-sized change table, ceiling hoist, privacy screen, toilet, and shower, ensuring comfort for individuals with high support needs.
Outdoor Fitness Station
If you’re keen to get moving, you’ll love the new outdoor fitness station – it’s a great spot to squeeze in a workout while enjoying the fresh air.
For the Parents!
The good news:
- The park has great toilets and accessible changing facilities
- A walking path loops around the entire park, which is great for prams, scooters and bikes
- There’s plenty of seating at the playground
- There’s loads of parking available
- The Croatian Club is right next to the playground – perfect for lunch or summer dinner visits
The not-so-good news:
- The playground isn’t fenced but set back from the road
- There’s not a lot of shade sails, so bring hats and sunscreen
