A New Era of Play
The new King George Park Playground was developed in collaboration with local families, play experts, and the Touched by Olivia Foundation, a champion of inclusive play. This playground is the first of five flagship inclusive playgrounds in the Inner West, setting a high standard for accessible and engaging play spaces across the region.
From the moment you step into the playground, you’ll be greeted by a helpful legend outlining the many elements to explore. Kids can splash around in the water play area, climb the steeper slides, or challenge themselves on the climbing net, while parents relax under the large sailcloths and mature trees that provide shade throughout the day.
Adding to the playground’s charm is its deep connection to Aboriginal cultural heritage. Visitors are greeted by the striking Baludarri (Leatherjacket) motif at the entry, designed by Mumbulla Creative. This beautiful artwork, along with other Aboriginal elements found throughout the play areas, celebrates the park’s foreshore location and its cultural ties to the sea, telling important stories of the land and its people.
Getting There
