Winter School holiday programs at Macquarie – bookings now open!

Exciting adventures, cool activities, super sports and awesome creations await at Macquarie University’s school holiday programs.

Is your child a budding scientist? Do they enjoy art, drama, cooking and games? From swimming and gymnastics to science and robots, Macquarie school holiday programs have you covered with age-appropriate activities for children between the ages of five and 15.

Junior Science Academy

Vacation Care at Waratah Cottage

The Waratah vacation care program is packed with exciting and engaging activities to keep your children’s minds and bodies active during the school holidays. There are many adventures to have, from art and craft, dancing and experimenting, to exciting incursions and excursions planned throughout the holidays.

  • Dates: Monday 6th – Friday 17th July 2026
  • Time:  7.30am – 6.30pm
  • Ages:  5 – 12 years old
  • Cost: $98.50 – $120 (per day)*

*Cost includes all meals and snacks. Vacation Care is an approved service; CCS may apply.

Gymnastics School Holiday Program

A variety of half day gymnastics-specific workshops and other fun activities designed to teach technical skills and to ensure kids have lots of fun with friends along the way. Enhance gymnastics abilities through engaging, expert-led sessions in a safe place to learn and play.

Bookings open 9th June 2026.

Dates: 

  • Monday 6th July – Friday 10th July
  • Monday 13th July – Friday 17th July

Time: 12pm to 4pm

Learn to Swim Holiday Classes

Holiday classes are run as 20-minute one-on-one sessions, adapted to each participant’s needs. Classes are available to students aged from three years old, through to adults, catering for beginners all the way through to stroke correction.

Students must book in and pay for the whole week. They cannot book in for part of the week or individual days. Parents and guardians must accompany their child(ren) and are required to stay for the duration of the program.

  • Dates: 6 – 10 July 2026 (5 day program) & 13 – 17 July 2026 (5 day program)
  • Time: 20 minute classes, timeslots available 8am – 6pm
  • Ages:3 years+
  • Cost:$240 (5-day program)

Swimming Race Camps and Intensive Stroke Clinics

Race Camps
Covers diving from blocks, touch and tumble turns, finishing skills for all four strokes and sprinting all four strokes.

Intensive Stroke Clinics
Tailored to each squad level and will focus on stroke correction, kicking skills, body position and core work.

Bookings open 9 June

External participants (those NOT currently enrolled in the MQU Squad Program) will need to undergo a squad assessment to be eligible to book into these camps/clinics.

  • Dates: 
      • Backstroke Stroke Clinic – Thursday 9 July – 10:30am – 12:00pm
      • Freestyle Stroke Clinic – Friday 10 July – 10:30am – 12:00pm
      • Breaststroke Stroke Clinic – Thursday 16 July – 10:30am – 12:00pm
      • Butterfly Stroke Clinic – Friday 17 July – 10:30am – 12:00pm
  • Time: Various times for each program and age groups, please check the website for full details.
  • Ages:8 years+
  • Suitable for: Seal, Orca, Dolphin (MQU LTS students) and all Squad students. External participants are welcome – please book a squad assessment prior to enrolling in the clinic.
  • Cost: $225 (5-day program)

Hearing Hub for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Kids

This accessible STEM program is delivered by the JSA in partnership with the Australian Hearing Hub. Their DHH program is ONLY for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Find out more about the two exciting sessions and register your interest by visiting the JSA Outreach website.

  • Dates: 14 and 15 Jan 2026
  • Time: 9.30am – 4pm*
  • Ages: 6 – 12 years old

*Supervision is provided one hour before and after sessions. Sign in is from 8.30 am, last pick up is 5pm.
