Business Night Guidelines

  • Business Night is on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month from 8-9pm. To ensure fairness for everyone, business posts made outside this time will be removed.
  • Posting during Business Night will ensure you get the most out of your listing – it’s an opportunity to promote your business 24 times a year to your target audience.
  • Only businesses listed on our website Business Directory can post during Business Night. If you haven’t already, you can join the Business Directory here.
  • To become a member of our RDM Facebook group so that you can post on Business Night, you must be a local mum. If you’re not a Ryde District Mum you are welcome to have your wife, partner, sister or friend to post on your behalf. Only personal profiles are able to join the RDM Facebook group (as opposed to our Facebook business page). Thus, business hour posts must come from a personal profile.
  • If your post has been deleted please read these guidelines to figure out why before messaging admin.
  • Only one business post per person per business night.
  • Please start your post with “Business Post” so it’s easily identifiable to admins and other group members.
  • What can post? You can either post one image (feel free to add a few images to make a collage or you can use a video. Try to use a really good quality image or video – ones that grab attention! Another option is to share a post from your own Facebook page, although this isn’t usually as effective at getting people to stop and look.
  • Write a blurb about your business or a specific promotion you have running and be crystal clear on what you are offering. Make sure to include a link to a website or Facebook page so people can find out more.
  • Do not comment on your post unless responding to a question – this artificially bumps the post.
  • If you would like to advertise a job to Ryde District Mums, you can do so via the Job Board.
  • Group members regularly use the group search function so think about keywords your customer may search to help your business come up when they use the search field.
