Halvorsen Park, Ermington

A nearby cafe, green space, on the river and lots of space – what’s not to like about Halvorsen Park in Ermington?

One way to get the most out of a visit to this playground is to visit by scooter, bike or foot. Located on the Parramatta River, the playground is one of many dotted along the 20km cycleway between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park. If driving, you can park on Seamist Avenue and walk down the pram friendly paths to the playground.

The park was designed with a nautical theme to tie in with the areas boat building and Australian naval history. In terms of play equipment, toddlers and preschoolers will be in heaven. You’ll find:

  • balancing logs and sandstone blocks
  • swings and slides
  • twirling twister
  • a submarine with play equipment
  • four huge rope climbing towers (older kids will love this)

The addition of Cafe W in 2020 gives this playground major clout – nothing can enhance a park play more than doing it with a coffee in hand! They also offer a range of breakfast and lunch items. It also houses the only toilet facilities near the park. The next closest toilet can be found at George Kendall Riverside Park or Ermington Shops.
