Intake Coordinator - The Northern Centre, West Ryde

Full Time, 6-12 Month Contract (Parental Leave Cover).

The Northern Centre is a dynamic and growing organisation that provides early intervention and prevention services to families and individuals specifically in the areas of family and parenting support, homelessness prevention/early intervention and domestic and family violence support services. We provide support to our community in the disciplines of case management and coordination, counselling, parenting programs and education, advice, referrals, advocacy and group work.

We are a very busy service and the Intake Coordinator role is a vital step in a clients journey into our services, our collocated partner services and general the sector.

Salary will be in accordance with the SCHADS Award level 4 and in accordance your skills, knowledge and experience. There is generous salary packaging as well as monthly external team clinical supervision, training budget and EAP provision available for this role. The TNC office is located in West Ryde.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in the Community Welfare and/or Human Services sector.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise empathy, discretion and sensitivity when communicating with clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a range of issues facing vulnerable families and individuals including, but not limited to, domestic violence, homelessness, mental health, family breakdown, drugs and alcohol and parenting stress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and be hands on in all aspects of workload.  Understanding of WHS.
  • Familiar with CRM systems and database management.
  • Overdeveloped IT literacy.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in engaging with a vulnerable client cohort.
  • Experience working with clients at risk of homelessness.
  • Knowledge and experience of Social Housing Pathways.
  • Bilingual/community language.
