The School holidays are here — but don’t worry, you don’t need to leave the Ryde area to keep everyone happy. Top Ryde City Shopping Centre is packed with family-friendly fun for all ages. From babies and toddlers through to tweens and teens, here are 13 School Holiday Ideas at Top Ryde City — plus some practical tips and local insights from us!
1. Tada Kids Café (Top Ryde) — No adult entry fee!
At Tada Kids Café Top Ryde, you get entry for up to 2 adults per paying child! Such a win when you’ve got multiple kids. They have plenty of pram parking and seating, plus a cafe on site. You can purchase for as little as one hour. Make sure you take socks for any kids and adults! This cafe includes multiple themed zones: pretend-play markets/shops, dress-up corners, slides, a ball pit, a race track, an interactive wall screen and much more. Learn more here.

2. Monkey Mania Top Ryde
Monkey Mania is a powerhouse option with something for most ages and has most recently added a new Sports Mania multi sports court, which your 7-12 year olds will love. Other highlights include a dedicated toddler zone, inflatable jumping castle, foam ball arena, climbing structures, slides, and more. They have a large seating area for parents and carers and plenty of pram parking. See more about Monkey Mania Top Ryde here.

3. Timezone and their NEW ColourGrid Game
Timezone at Top Ryde is more than just arcade games — they recently launched the ColourGrid interactive game experience, which older kids love. Read more about Timezone’s Colour Grid here.
This Timezone is huge, with over 3,000 square metres of entertainment space. It houses more than 140 arcade games to suit toddlers through to adults. They also have a large-scale laser tag arena that can take up to 24 players. One of our kids’ favourite things is the Bumper Cars “Spin Zone”. It’s like dodgem cars but better! Timezone has various passes that include unlimited play and certain games for certain periods of time. Check out their current promotions here.

4. Strike Bowling
For older kids or teens, Strike Bowling is great — especially when open late 7 days a week. It is located inside Timezone Top Ryde City Shopping Centre, and they have 12 lanes available. See their promotions here.

5. Baby & Toddler Play Areas at Top Ryde City
Top Ryde City has a dedicated play area for little ones separated into 2 zones. This area is located on level one, down behind The Reject Shop and is located beside a large baby change and feeding room.

6. Sushi Train at Sushi Roll
A family favourite: Monkey Mania Top Ryde offers sushi train dining that the kids love. They have tables alongside the sushi train or tables within the centre of the restaurant. You can buy off the sushi train or order from the menu via their iPads.

7. Piazza Dining + Kids Menus
There are heaps of options for lunch or dinner in the Piazza that are child-friendly and have kids’ menus. Some of the Piazza we think your family will love are Guzman Y Gomez, Grill’d Burgers, Coco Cubano, Farina Pizzeria and Hurricanes Bar and Grill. Remember, the Piazza has open space for the kids to run around, a hopscotch court and the kids’ favourite water fountains! You can view all the food options at Top Ryde City here.

8. Frozen Yoghurt at Yo-Chi
While you are in the Piazza it would be wrong to leave without a visit to Yo-Chi. Kids get to pick their own yoghurt flavour, then select their toppings. There is plenty of seating for the family to sit and enjoy their creations. We also love that there has never been a wait when we’ve visited.

9. Daiso — Creative & Craft Kits
Daiso Australia has great silicone moulds (for baking) and sushi kits that make for fun at-home projects. They are located behind the main food court on LG1.

10. Event Cinemas Top Ryde
Catching a film is always a solid option, and Top Ryde’s v-Max seats make it even better. Check out what’s on at Events Top Ryde here, and don’t forget to be a member so you get their member ticket prices!

12. Hot Bargain (near Aldi) — Budget Craft Finds
Great for affordable craft supplies and activity packs to keep kids busy at home. They even have a large wool section if your kids are learning crochet. We saw a huge selection of markers, pencils, stickers, colouring-in books, glitter (if you are game), and so much more.

13. Sweet Treats: San Churro & Baskin-Robbins
End your day on a high note with a little dessert indulgence. Come on, you deserve it! You will find both San Churro and Baskin-Robbins outside Timezone on the ground floor.
