We all need a Justice of the Peace (J.P.) at one point or another, and it’s a common question in our Facebook Chat group. Here are some of the regular JP services available around Ryde and surrounding suburbs.
JP services are generally provided by volunteers, so availability can change at short notice. Always check the linked venue information or call before attending.
Please note: Some services limit the number of documents they will process. Bring your original documents, identification and any required photocopies with you.

City of Ryde Libraries
City of Ryde library JP sessions operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with no bookings required. Only a limited number of tickets are issued for each session, and there is a maximum of 10 pages per customer.

JP services are available at Epping, Dundas and Ermington libraries, but their hours vary according to volunteer availability. Check the City of Parramatta JP calendar or contact the relevant library before attending.

NSW JPs generally witness statutory declarations and affidavits and certify copies of original documents. They cannot provide legal advice, and NSW JPs are not authorised to witness documents intended for use overseas. Those documents may require a Public Notary.
