What’s Happening in the City of Ryde this Christmas 2021

The festival season is infinitely better when we celebrate together and in person! Join City of Ryde in celebrating Christmas this year at these fun and festive events.
Please remember to check the conditions of entry closer to the date of the event and follow instructions for a COVID-19 safe Christmas.

 

Cinema in the Park – Christmas Edition

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December, 5:30pm
Come down to the park with your family and friends to celebrate the festive season with a family-friendly Christmas movie or two!
The movies start at sundown (around 8pm) but you can come by earlier for soft-serve icecream, inflatable slides and obstacle courses. There will also be dinner options and special appearances by giant candy canes and bouncing elves.
Don’t miss the free popcorn, which will be handed out until stock runs out. This is a free event and registrations are essential.

Saturday 11th December
Fontenoy Park, Macquarie Park

Christmas Snapshots at West Ryde

Friday 10th to Sunday 12th December, 5pm-9pm
Get your Christmas snapshot taken at West Ryde Plaza, which will come to life with our giant Christmas tree, Santa’s elves and decorated Christmas shipping container!
Pose at the Christmas backdrop with your family or friends and have your photo taken and instantly sent to your mobile device. You can also enjoy live performances by local musicians.

Christmas Shopping at Ryde Wharf Market

Sunday 12 December, 8am-2pm
Avoid the last-minute Christmas shopping rush and support local makers and businesses by purchasing Christmas gifts at the Ryde Wharf Market. From homemade gifts to handcrafted trinkets, there will be a wide range of products to choose from.
The market is held at Anderson Park in Meadowbank. Conditions of entry apply.

Christmas Outdoor Stories and Songs
Friday 10 December, 10.30-11.30am 
Come along and celebrate Christmas with Ryde Library staff and Macca’s Christmas Crackers!
This event is free and will be held at The Piazza, Top Ryde City Shopping Centre.

Rotary Carols 2021
Sunday 19 December, 5.15-9.15pm
Enjoy carols, rides for kids, food and drink stalls, as well as plenty of entertainment on the big stage, with a fabulous finale.
This ticketed event will be held at North Ryde RSL Sports Ground in Marsfield.
