St Ives Showgrounds Playground and Cafe

posted in: Life, Parks & Playgrounds | 0

St Ives Showground Playground was opened by KurigGai Council in late 2020 with a budget of $2.25-million-dollars, and it looks to be money well spent judging its popularity!  Since then it has continued to get better and better with the addition of the TreeTops high ropes adventure course in 2021, and a cafe in late 2022. What a combo!

This all-abilities playground has LOADs to offer including:

An area for younger kids offering smaller scale play elements with:

  • junior swings
  • a carousel
  • a rocker
  • cubby house with low slide
  • an imaginative farm play setting for developing motor skills as well as social, cognitive, and emotional capabilities.

The area for older kids includes:

  • “Skywalker” elevated walkway
  • Mega slides
  • Birds nest swing
  • Double flying fox
  • Merry-go-round
  • tall rope climbs
  • cable rides
  • and more!

Cafe

With the help of NSW Government funding, the former kiosk has been refurbished with a new roof, commercial kitchen and outdoor seating among the improvements. St Ives Showground obtained over $2 million worth of grants for a range of improvements, including new access roads and upgrades to buildings including the former kiosk.

The café is located next to the main arena and close to the new playground and the Tree Tops high ropes course.

It will open to the public 6 days a week (Tuesday to Sunday) between 8am and 4pm, serving light meals for breakfast and lunch and extended hours during major events.
