St Ives Showground Playground, opened by Ku-ring-gai Council in December 2020 with a budget of $2.25 million, has become a beloved destination for families in the region. See our reel here!

Its popularity has only grown with the addition of the TreeTops high ropes adventure course in 2021 and the Black Knight Café in late 2022. This combination of attractions offers a comprehensive recreational experience for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Playground Features

Designed as an all-abilities playground, St Ives Showground Playground offers a variety of play areas catering to different age groups:

For Younger Children (6 years and under):

• Junior swings
• Spinning carousel
• Rocker
• Cubby houses with low slides
• Imaginative farm and showground play settings

For Older Children (6 years and older):

• Elevated enclosed rope walkways
• High slides
• Giant birds nest swing
• Double flying fox
• Merry-go-round
• Tall rope climbs
• Cable rides

The playground also incorporates nature play areas with logs, timber, boulders, and plants, encouraging imaginative play and exploration.

Black Knight Café

The Black Knight Café, situated next to the main arena and close to both the playground and the TreeTops high ropes course, provides a convenient spot for refreshments. As of March 2025, the café operates from Wednesday to Sunday, 7am to 3pm, serving light meals for breakfast and lunch.
