Philip Ruddock Water Playground, located at Dundas Park offers some of the best free fun kids could have on a hot day! It’s best suited for children between 1-8 years of age and parents will feel very comfortable supervising from the nearby shaded picnic tables. Best of all, the playground also has a “dry” playground with swings, a climbing structure with a slide and more.
The waterpark is well protected with 4 shade sails covering the area and features:
- fountains
- tipping buckets
- water jets
- misting rings and more!
Dundas Park itself offers a fantastic green space / oval for kicking a ball or flying a kite. You’ll also find other facilities such as:
- public toilets (about 50m from water play area)
- sheltered picnic tables
- BBQs
The water is on from September to May, 9am to 8pm and on hot days it can get very busy. Also, parking can be trickier to find on weekends when the sports field is in use.
If that’s not enough, there’s are a VARIETY of food options within a short walk of the play area!
- Daisys by the Park. They offer takeaway but also have a covered courtyard area that is great for families, particularly if you have a pram.
- Vulcano Pizzeria is open from 5pm to 8:30pm daily and can a great no-fuss dinner option
- The Vikings Sports Club Bistro (Quarry Road) is open for lunch and dinner and has a great kids play area if you’re keen to continue the fun!
Getting There
Phillip Ruddock Water Playground is located on the corner of Yates Road and Quarry Road, Dundas. Free parking can be found on Yates Avenue and Quarry Road.
