A Wholesome Approach to Nutrition
One of the standout features that we loved at Little Leo’s is its commitment to providing children with nourishing, high-quality meals each day. Prepared onsite by an in-house chef, the menu is inspired by consultation with a nutritionist and the well-known Bable Food Bible (if you know you know!). Every meal is made from scratch using organic ingredients, with a strict focus on no preservatives, no additives, and no seed oils.
The centre partners with local farms and organic suppliers to ensure fresh, seasonal produce, while also incorporating herbs grown in their very own garden as part of a “garden to plate” program. Meals are thoughtfully designed to support brain development, boost immunity, and help children feel energised, focused, and emotionally balanced throughout their day.
Engaging Experiences Beyond the Classroom
Little Leo’s offers a rich variety of incursions and excursions designed to spark curiosity and broaden children’s understanding of the world around them. Children can take part in Indigenous cultural programs, reptile encounters, hatching and life-cycle programs, excursions to the zoo and aquarium, and visits to local parks and nearby schools. These experiences provide hands-on learning opportunities that go far beyond the traditional classroom setting. Swimming lessons are also offered for children aged 4+.
Purpose-Built Spaces for Every Stage
The Denistone East centre caters for 64 children across four carefully designed rooms: Cubs (0–1 years), Meerkats (1–2 years), Rhinos (2–3 years), and Zebras (3–5 years). Each space has been curated to suit the developmental needs of its age group, creating a safe and engaging environment where children feel confident to explore and learn. There are also 2 outside areas to cater for the different ages. One for 0-2 and the other for 3 to 5.
All-Inclusive Enrichment Programs
Families will appreciate the all-inclusive approach at Little Leo’s, where a wide range of activities are built into the daily program at no extra cost. Children can enjoy gardening and sustainability experiences, rhythm and movement programs, language development sessions, yoga and mindfulness, swimming, and cooking activities. All nappies and sunscreen are also provided, making daily life that little bit easier for busy families.
Inspiring Outdoor Play
The outdoor environment at Little Leo’s is just as impressive as the indoor spaces. Children have access to a large playscape featuring a safari lodge and fort, an in-ground trampoline, mud kitchen, water play stations, and a bike track. These thoughtfully designed areas encourage active play, imagination, and social interaction in a natural setting.
Supporting School Readiness
Little Leo’s places a strong emphasis on preparing children for their transition to school. Their high-quality school readiness program aligns with both the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Stage 1 school curriculums, ensuring children develop the confidence, independence, and foundational skills they need for a smooth and successful start to primary school. They also include the use of a SMART board and Reading Eggs (all at supervised times with educators).
