Janet Park, West Ryde

Say hello to Janet Park in West Ryde! This little beauty reopened 31st May 2021 after undergoing a $100,000 makeover thanks to a Federal Government grant. In line for an upgrade already, the grant was able to bring the project forward a year.

The upgrade has resulted in the existing playground at Janet Park being upgraded from a Local to a Neighbourhood level playground, with plenty of new features that the kids will love.

It was originally built without a fence but upon request from the community, Mayor Laxale arranged to have one installed which occurred in January of 2022.

Janet Park playground features modern play equipment including an all-accessible nest swing, cyclone spinner, sensory flowers, climbing net, a slide and a seating area. The new features of the playground and layout were based on feedback from the community consultation undertaken late last year.

Here’s how this playground looked before the upgrade.. quite the difference!

Getting There

Janet park can be found on the corner of Brush Road and Hermoyne Street in West Ryde. Parking can be found on both streets.
