On Australia Day, we come together as a nation to celebrate our diverse society and landscape, our remarkable achievements and our bright future.
It is also a chance to reflect on our nation’s history and to consider how we can make Australia an even better place.
If you are experiencing any Covid-19 Symptoms, have tested positive in the last 7 days or are a close contact we kindly request you stay at home.

Cinema in the Park – Paper Planes
6.30 PM – Tuesday 25 January at Fontenoy Park
Kick off Australia Day celebrations by sitting outside in the fresh summer air watching a classic Australian Movie, Paper Planes.
Come down with your picnic rug, bean bag or low chair on Australia Day eve to watch Paper Planes with your family and friends to celebrate Australia Day in the City of Ryde.
The first 1000 people will be given a coupon to receive a free sausage sanga and soft-serve ice cream (kids only) so come down early at 6.30pm!
There will also be special appearances by giant jumping kangaroos.
Movie will commence at sundown, approximately 8pm.
This is a free event and registrations are essential.

Aus Day Fireworks at Meadowbank Park!
9pm – Wednesday 26th January 2022
Australia Day will end in a celebration of light and colour when fireworks will blast up from Ryde Park and Meadowbank Park.
Please note: There are no events at the time of the fireworks however we invite the community to come down to these locations to view the fireworks or watch from the comfort of their own homes. More info here.

Lunar New Year, 2022 Year of the Tiger
Come and see the Lunar Lanterns Light up Eastwood Plaza.
Participate in online workshops including Tiger Drawing workshops and Cooking classes – including Dumplings, Wontons, Lo Mein and Chinese Pancakes. Registrations essential to join.
Saturday 12th Feb – Eastwood Oval Lunar New Year Cinema
Book your tickets and come down to Eastwood Oval from 6.30pm to watch performances and Lion Dance before the open air screening of ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ at sundown. Food trucks on site. Bookings essential for entry. For more details, to register for workshops and book Cinema tickets click here.
