Family Science Day at Parramatta – 19th August

Are your kids budding scientists bursting with curiosity? Bring them to Family Science Day in Parramatta where they can experience a world of ideas through workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

Family Science Day is taking place at Parramatta Square and PHIVE on Saturday 19 August between 10am – 3pm.

The City of Parramatta is proud to partner with Powerhouse to bring you Family Science Day, as part of the Sydney Science Festival.

You can register for the free activities in PHIVE (limited spots available) or explore the free activities in Parramatta Square (no registrations required). Large crowds are expected so get there early and allow plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

Family Science Day Activities at Parramatta Square

Unravel the secrets of weather patterns, experience captivating experiments with liquid nitrogen, witness firsthand the remarkable feat of engineering that is the WSU solar-powered car, discover how scientists use a visual coding language to control a quarter-scale replica of NASA’s 2011 Curiosity Mars Rover, and so much more.
The Family Science Day activities in Parramatta Square are free, fun, and family-friendly.

UPDATE: The Family Science Day event at PHIVE & the Astronaut talk at PHIVE are both fully booked/sold out. Parramatta Square events are still available however large crowds are expected so best to get in early to avoid disappointment.

Family Science Day Activities at PHIVE

Design a 3D model prototype, learn about aerodynamics by building a rocket, use a star map to discover what the night’s sky will look like on your birthday, and meet a scientist to have your burning science questions answered. There’s so much for kids to explore and experience!
