Acacia Park in Telopea is one of those quietly excellent local parks that feels like a genuine community find. Perched at the top of the hill on Evans Road, just up from the Telopea shops, it’s leafy, spacious and well set up for families. With thoughtful play equipment, plenty of shade and room to spread out, it’s a low-key, well-maintained park that works just as well for quick playdates as it does for a longer picnic or afternoon wander — especially handy for locals and nearby suburbs.
What you’ll find here:
- Mostly fenced playground, ideal for younger kids
- Plenty of natural shade from established trees
- Public toilets and water fountains
- Park benches and picnic tables are positioned around the edge of the park, rather than throughout
- BBQs and multiple seating areas suited to longer visits

The playground offers a good mix of imaginative, climbing and active play:
- A cubby house structure with multiple entry points, two slides, and access via stairs, ladders and climbing ropes at the rear
- Music play area with drums and chimes kids can interact with
- Decorative house silhouettes that encourage imaginative play
- Spider climbing frame for confident climbers
- In-ground trampoline
- Swings, including a baby seat and a circle swing
- Merry-go-round
- Nature play area featuring stepping logs, a balancing bridge and a single-person seesaw
Beyond the playground:
- Large open grassed area for ball games, picnics or free play
- Seating at the top of the grassed area with elevated views towards Parramatta
- Walking and bike track with distance markers clearly marked in metres
- Well-suited to prams, scooters, bikes, walking or light jogging
Getting There
- Acacia Park is located at 42a Evans Road, Telopea
- Best playground access via Lord Avenue
- Around 15 parking spaces on Lord Ave, plus additional street parking nearby
- Close to Telopea Station (once the light rail reopens), though the walk includes some steep hills
- Bus services run along Evans Road to Parramatta, West Ryde and Macquarie Park
