Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2025

Spring’s most magical escape is blooming soon—the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival at Auburn Botanic Gardens is back from 16–24 August, daily from 9 am to 4:45 pm.

Tickets & Entry

  • Free for Cumberland City Council residents, but pre-booking is essential—no tickets available at the gate.
  • General admission: $16.60 for adults, $8.95 for kids 5–16, free for under 4s. Family passes (2 adults + 2 kids) priced at $44.65.
  • Student group bookings via MIT are available at around $10, including entry and transport—but spaces are limited.

Highlights for Families

  • Cherry Blossom Trail: Wander under over 200 satin-pink blooms—don’t miss the Cherry Arbour and the Torii Gate (soooo pretty!)
  • Zen Zone & Forest Bathing: Step away from the buzz and soak in tranquility by the water.
  • Sakura Stage & Takumi Pavilion: From joyous drumbeats and dance to origami and manga workshops—there’s something for kids (and grown-ups) of all ages.
  • Kimono photo ops: Slip into a kimono and get that perfect insta-shot under the Torii Gate—Mt Fuji vibes included.

Foodie Fun

  • Japanese Food Village: Full of classic festival eats like ramen, mochi, and matcha sweets—plus the much-talked-about Aunty Tomsu’s Cheesecake Sundae from Gelato Messina. Trust us, you want this slice.
  • Izakaya Amore (18+): Jazz, cocktails, and City Pop DJ vibes—all while soaking in that festive glow.

Getting There & Tips

  • Shuttle Bus: Jump on the free shuttle from Auburn Station—super easy and hassle-free.
  • Parking: Limited. Street parking or nearby lots are better options, just watch signage. Chiswick Road will be closed, so use the drop-off on Killeen Street.
  • Best Time to Visit: Go on a weekday if you can—crowds are thinner, and you’ll likely catch the blooms at their fullest.

This festival is pure enchantment—more than just pretty petals, it’s a vibrant celebration of culture, nature, and food. With performances, crafts, peaceful retreats, and unforgettable views, it’s a spring outing the whole family will treasure. Get tickets early—this event truly sells fast!
