The Granny Smith Festival is back and bigger than ever! Get ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary on Saturday, 18 October 2025, from 9am to 8:30pm.
This year, the City of Ryde is pulling out all the stops for the biggest celebration yet. Expect a day packed with fun, including:

🎶 Live performances and entertainment for all ages

🎆 A spectacular finale show and fireworks display
What makes the Granny Smith Festival truly special is its community spirit: over 200 stallholders, 500 performing artists, and up to 1,000 local participants will proudly take part in the grand street parade.

Kangaroo Beach
Calling all young Ryde Lifesaving Cadets! Get ready for an action-packed adventure at the Granny Smith Oval Stage with your furry friends, Pounce the Kangaroo and Neville the Wombat!
Join the fun at 12pm and 2pm for an exciting, interactive session all about water safety – packed with laughs, learning, and lively entertainment.
Then, strike a pose with Pounce and Neville at 1pm and 3pm next to the Oval Stage and take home a fun photo memory!

Get ready for a night of unforgettable music as Dylan Wright, the powerhouse voice who stole hearts and claimed the crown on Australian Idol 2024, takes the stage! Known for his soul-stirring performances and timeless renditions of classic hits, Dylan brings his signature country charm and undeniable talent to the spotlight.
Catch him live at 7pm on the Oval Stage – dust off your boots and cowboy hats for a true country celebration under the stars!
Big Apple Singing Comp
Step up to the mic and shine in the Big Apple Singing Competition! With two categories (under 15s and 15+), there’s a chance for everyone to showcase their vocal talent!
The competition kicks off at 12pm, and with a stack of amazing prizes up for grabs, it’s your time to take the spotlight!

Design Your Own Sticker Competition
Grab your coloured pencils and let your imagination run wild by designing your very own apple sticker for this year’s special anniversary.
The competition is open to kids aged 3–12, with two age categories (3-6 years and 7-12 years). Show off your artistic flair and be part of the fun! You can submit your masterpiece online.

40 Years of Granny Smith Exhibition
Be sure to check out the exhibition at Eastwood Library showcasing the history of Granny Smith and the Festival itself. On the day of the festival, make sure to visit Eastwood Library to see one-of-a-kind artefacts owned by Granny Smith and her family!
