TERRY FOX Run/walk MEADOWBANK

The Terry Fox Run/Walk is a 3, 5, 10 km non-competitive walk/run raising money for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. It’s about raising awareness of the great achievements of Terry Fox, raising money for children’s cancer research and also for the community to get together and participate and have fun. Have a cup of coffee and walk around Meadowbank with our fellow city of Ryde residents, and be a part of something special. This event is about inspiring our kids.

In 1978 Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer and his right leg had to be amputated. In 1980 he ran 5,373 kms on one leg to raise money for cancer research. Unfortunately, the cancer returned, so he could not complete the entire course he set out to do. He is a legend and a great role model for our kids.

He and the foundation that was set up after his death has raised $750 million to date.
