— THE SYDNEY TEA FESTIVAL — CELEBRATING 5 YEARS! —

Five years, 25,000 tea lovers and 155 stallholders later, the Sydney Tea Festival is back at Carriageworks on Sunday, 19 August. Festivalgoers will again be spoilt with a range of world-class loose-leaf teas, and a refreshed program of workshops, talks and special features.

Spend the day wandering around a vibrant tea market that features dozens of specialty and artisan tea stalls. You’ll discover teas and tisanes of all kinds, from all over the world, as you make your way around the market place with your tea tasting cup in hand. Pick up some hand-made teaware, blend your very own tea at the DIY tea blending station, and indulge in some sweet and savoury treats. There’s also a program of workshops and talks hosted by some of Australia’s leading specialist.

New festival features in 2018 include The Tasting Table, an area where tea lovers can participate in intimate group tastings with tea purveyors, and a tea and food pairing degustation dinner, in honour of the festival’s 5th birthday.

Tea Market
The tea market includes more than 70 stallholders, from the boutique to the global, with specialty loose-leaf tea and tisanes of all styles; ceramic artists and makers of teaware; artisan food purveyors and food trucks for something bigger to eat. There’s also a Brew Lounge where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea.

Tasting Cup
Sample tea from different stallholders all day with a porcelain tasting cup, included in the entry fee and valued at $5.00.

DIY Tea Blending Station
Create, name and pack your own custom tea blend at the DIY Tea Blending Station. Sessions run every half an hour from 9.30am until 3.00pm.

The Tasting Table
Experience an intimate tea tasting in a small group setting in the market place.

Tea Workshops & Talks
Immerse yourself in the world of tea with some of Australia’s leading tea specialists, as they host educational talks, demonstrations and hands-on sessions.

5th Birthday Dinner
Experience a food and tea pairing degustation dinner at Automata in Chippendale, one of Sydney’s best restaurants, in celebration of the festival’s 5th birthday.

Artist Collaboration
Contemporary Australian artist, Elliott Routledge (Elliott Numskull), has given the festival it’s fresh and colourful new look. His work will be showcased throughout the festival.
