The City of Ryde holds an annual Cinema in the Park event that features popular movies. The free screenings are held during March in different locations around the City of Ryde. Bring your picnic rug or low chair and find a spot on the grass – or plaza!

Movies start at sundown, approximately 8pm

Entry is free
All venues are smoke free
All venues are wheelchair accessible
Light refreshments will be available at all venues. Food available at Eastwood Plaza
Parking available at all venues
All movies include closed captions for the deaf and hearing impaired
Movies will be shown on an inflatable screen with excellent clarity and stereo sound

Westside Vibe

Hornsby’s most loved local festival, Westside Vibe is returning on Friday 3 May, with a lineup of entertainment and international cuisine that promise an evening overflowing with rhythm, colour and the sensory delights.

This year’s Westside Vibe will again transform the area around Hornsby’s Dural Lane with striking decorations, food trucks, a licensed bar, face painting and kids’ activities, along with five hours of free live music.

Westside Vibe will come alive with music from a range of lively performers to get you dancing including Gang of Brothers, The Funky Monkeys and Voodoo Punch.

Alongside the entertainment and activities, taste buds will be set alight by international food from over 15 of Sydney’s best food trucks including Vietnamese Street Foods, Master Gozleme, Myme Express with Indian street food, Fritz’s Wieners with German sausages, and Piggy & Moo with gourmet burgers and loaded fries. There will be animal shaped fairy floss for the kids from PourSomeSugar, and Kubarz pop-up bar will serve delicious drinks, from beers to cocktails.

High Trees Early Learning Centre OPEN DAY!

Nestled close to a reserve at the end of Malvina Street, Ryde (near to Ryde Secondary College), High Trees Early Learning is a small (40 places), family-owned and operated Centre in Ryde, offering a warm and inviting environment for children aged 2-6. High Trees isn’t just a place for learning; it’s a place for growth, creativity, and community engagement for children!

Recently reopened, the Centre has been refurbished and offers bright, open plan rooms with exceptional visibility of children and great ventilation. All equipment and furniture is brand new and set up in a carefully considered manner so that the environment is not only fresh and inviting, but caters to the needs and safety of the children.

The Centre is open Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm (closed for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year).

Fees are $130 per day, and include all meals and nappies.

This is a great opportunity to explore the Centre, meet the educators and ask any questions you may have!

Kindergym Free Trial

Do you have a little one under 5 years? Are you interested in developing their social, cognitive, and physical skills while preparing them for school? Our Kindergym programs aim to assist in healthy development and learning through play.

From May 13^th to May 26^th, we are offering one FREE trial class for our Kindergym programs!

Our Kindergym programs include:

Play Gym: Ages 12 months to 2 years.

In the Play Gym class, coaches and parents/caregivers work together in the class to support our little gymnasts. Learning and exploring through play, little gymnasts can develop their problem-solving skills, safe risk taking and fundamental movement skills.

Mini Gym: Ages 18 months to 3 years

In the Mini Gym class, coaches and parents work together in the class to support our little gymnasts to discover more about their surroundings, begin to develop fundamental movement skills, and develop coordination and motor skills.

Junior Gym: Ages 3 to 5 years

In the Junior Gym class, coaches work with their little gymnasts to develop school ready behaviours. Children learn fundamental gymnastics skills and motor movements, using all apparatus over a two-week
