We offer something truly unique — a one-of-a-kind early learning experience set within a beautifully restored heritage building combined with a modern, purpose-built centre. It’s a place where history, nature, and education come together to create an environment like no other in early childhood education.
We care for children aged 0–5 across six dedicated learning environments and two spacious outdoor playgrounds, each thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of different age groups.
🍼 Navigators & Explorers (0–2 years) – Nestled in our heritage building with original stained-glass windows, our youngest learners enjoy a calm and nurturing space with their own dedicated natural playground surrounded by frangipani trees and lush hedges.
🌿 Investigators (2–3 years) – Toddlers build confidence, language, and independence through purposeful play in a warm and structured environment.
⭐ Adventurers (3–4 years) – Our Prep School program begins here, with intentional learning in literacy, numeracy, and school-readiness, plus direct access to a private courtyard. Reading Eggs included, with home access for families.
🌈 Inventors & Voyagers (3.5–5 years) – Our senior program ensures every child transitions to kindergarten feeling confident and excited, with Reading Eggs home access continuing right through to transition.
What Makes Us Unique
A Heritage Setting Like No Other Our beautifully restored heritage building creates a warm, characterful learning environment that simply can’t be replicated. Original stained-glass windows, heritage fireplaces, and established gardens make our centre a truly special place to spend the early years.
Our Resident Chickens & Edible Garden All hatched right here at the centre through our educational hatching program, our resident chickens are a beloved part of daily life at Ryde. Children care for them, collect their eggs, and tend to our thriving edible garden — building responsibility, sustainability, and a genuine love of nature into every day.
A Goal-Based Curriculum We partner with families to establish individual learning goals for each child. Monthly learning summaries and comprehensive Developmental Milestone Reports three times a year give families meaningful, frequent insight into their child’s growth — well above what is typically offered at other centres.
An Experienced & Stable Team Our Centre Director brings more than 28 years of experience in early childhood education, and many of our educators have been with us since we opened in 2019. Consistency matters — and our families feel it every day.
Deep Community Roots We work closely with local schools, Carlile Swimming Ryde, allied health professionals, and community organisations. Our Annual Movie Night and Halloween Charity Event are highlights of the year, bringing our community together while giving back.
Award-Winning Excellence Proud finalists in both the Local Business Awards and the Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards — recognition of our dedication to outstanding education, care, and community.
Our Commitment to Child Safety
Child safety is embedded into every aspect of life at Little Zak’s Academy Ryde. All educators complete mandatory child protection training and receive ongoing professional development in safeguarding. Active supervision is maintained at all times, and children are involved in age-appropriate conversations about body safety, protective behaviours, and respectful relationships. We maintain an open, collaborative partnership with families so every child feels safe, respected, and empowered.
Extracurricular Programs
Every child has access to our signature extracurricular activities, included in their fees:
⚽ Zakaroos | 🧘 Yoga | 🌍 Language Lessons | 🍳 LZ Kitchen | 🌱 LZ Enviro
We also organise LZ Swimming 🏊 in partnership with Carlile Swimming Ryde — we handle all the logistics and take the children to lessons. Swimming fees are payable directly to the swimming school.
We are CCS approved and NSW Start Strong approved, helping make quality early education more accessible for local families.
