Bennelong Sports Centre + Netball Courts NOW OPEN!

A huge new sports precinct has officially opened in West Ryde — and it’s set to completely transform weekend sport for local families.

The brand new Bennelong Sports Centre is now open and officially home to the Eastwood Ryde Netball Association, replacing the ageing Meadowbank netball courts with one of the biggest community sports facilities in NSW.

Major Upgrade

For years, local netballers played on ageing courts at Meadowbank that were originally built on top of an old rubbish tip.

Now, after years of planning and construction, the former Marsden High School site has been completely transformed into a modern, purpose-built sporting precinct designed for a rapidly growing community.

What’s Included

This isn’t just a small upgrade — it’s a full-scale sports hub:

  • 29 outdoor netball courts
  • 4 indoor multipurpose courts
  • A large indoor stadium (approx. 5,000sqm)
  • Café on site
  • Indoor spaces
  • Open lawns, seating + picnic areas
  • Car + bicycle parking (including 295+ spaces)

It’s one of the largest facilities of its kind in NSW and a huge step up for local sport.

More Than Just Netball

While netball is the main focus, the centre has been designed to support a range of sports and community use, including:

  • Basketball
  • Futsal
  • Badminton

Along with programs, competitions and community access beyond game days.

A Long Time Coming for Ryde families

This project has been years in the making – first promised back in 2018, and is finally becoming a reality in 2026.

With more families moving into the area, the need for quality local sporting facilities has only grown, making this a very welcome addition.

Why Families Will Love It

✔ Proper parking (how good!)
✔ Coffee and food on site
✔ Space for siblings to run around
✔ Indoor courts for wet weather
✔ Everything in one location

It turns weekend sport from a logistical juggle into something much easier (and more enjoyable).
