This Australia Day, the City of Ryde invites the community to Meadowbank Park for a relaxed, family-friendly evening of entertainment, food and fireworks.
Taking place on Monday 26th January from 4pm – 9pm, there’s something for everyone!
With activities and entertainment for kids, teens and adults, this FREE event is a great opportunity to come together, connect with the community and celebrate in one of Ryde’s most popular parks.
Activities for kids and families
There’s plenty to keep younger visitors entertained throughout the evening. Kids can enjoy:
- free craft activities
- a cookie-making workshop
- free face painting
- live stage entertainment
- free skate workshops
- free sports activities for the whole family
Food, treats and community BBQ
Food lovers will be well catered for, with a selection of food trucks serving burgers, pizza and Japanese favourites, plus ice cream trucks for a sweet finish.
Families can also support a local cause by grabbing a sausage sizzle from the 1st Meadowbank Scout Community Group, alongside other community-run BBQ options.

5:30pm – Raptor Reptiles
A live reptile show on stage, giving families the chance to get up close to some of Australia’s most iconic lizards and reptiles. -
6:00pm – Official Welcome & Thong Throwing Competition
After the official welcome, head to the side of the stage to take part in the much-loved thong throwing competition, with prizes up for grabs. -
8:00pm – Top Shelf Live
Closing out the night’s live music, Top Shelf Live brings high-energy entertainment with a mix of soul classics, nostalgic 80s, 90s and 2000s hits, and dance-floor favourites designed to get the crowd moving. -
9:00pm – Fireworks
The night wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky over Meadowbank Park.
