Spring has arrived and there’s loads happening this September! From huge street festivals and fireworks to markets, cultural celebrations, rides and family fun days, here’s our guide to what’s on around Ryde and surrounds – in date order!
Lane Cove Festival
When: 1st – 30th September
Where: Various locations across Lane Cove
Lane Cove Festival runs throughout September with a huge program of events spanning live music, theatre, comedy, cabaret, circus, dance, markets, workshops, art and family activities. There are plenty of free events throughout the month, so it’s worth checking the full program to see what’s happening each weekend.
Float River Festival
When: Friday 4th – Sunday 6th September: Friday 5pm – 9pm, Saturday 12pm – 9pm, Sunday 12pm – 7pm
Where: Parramatta River Foreshore, Parramatta
A brand-new free riverside festival is coming to Parramatta! Expect market stalls, food vendors, live music, DJs, floating activations, giant inflatable ducks, twilight lighting and plenty of family-friendly entertainment. A major highlight will be the Charity Rubber Duck Race on Saturday and Sunday, where numbered ducks will race across the water for charity.
Murray Farm Public School Cracker Carnival
When: Saturday 5th September, 2pm – 8pm, Fireworks @ 7pm
Where: Murray Farm Public School, 18 Tracey Avenue, Carlingford
This much-loved community carnival is a great one for families, with amusement rides, games, activities, performances, market stalls and plenty of multicultural food. Stick around until 7pm for the huge fireworks display!
Entry is free, with rides and activities available to purchase.
Ryde Wharf Markets
When: Sunday 13th & Sunday 27th September, 9am – 2pm
Where: Anderson Park, Meadowbank
These popular riverside markets are held on the second and fourth Sunday of the month and make for an easy local morning out. Browse stalls featuring artisan products, fashion, jewellery, homewares, gifts and gourmet produce, plus plenty of food and coffee.
Let’s Go Greek Festival
When: Sunday 13th September, 11am – 9.30pm
Where: St Ioannis Greek Orthodox Church, 165 George Street, Parramatta
Eat, dance and celebrate all things Greek at this huge free festival in Parramatta. Expect a full day of live entertainment, traditional dancing, authentic Greek food, market stalls, gifts and family-friendly fun. This year’s headline act is Giorgos Tsalikis and his band, performing live from Greece.
Festival of the Winds
When: Sunday 13 September 2026, 11am–4pm
Where: Bondi Beach and Bondi Park
Watch professional kite flyers fill the sky above Bondi Beach with incredible kites of all shapes and sizes. The free festival also includes live entertainment, kite-making and flying activities, food stalls, arts and crafts.
Echoes: Moon Garden
When: 18 September–11 October 2026, nightly from 6.15pm
Where: Bella Vista Farm, Elizabeth Macarthur Drive, Bella Vista
Bella Vista Farm transforms into an immersive Moon Garden filled with illuminated flowers, falling stars, interactive projections, lasers, holograms and soundscapes. The outdoor trail takes approximately 45–90 minutes and is suitable for all ages, with low-sensory sessions available. Tickets start from $11.50 for children, $16.50 for adults and $46.50 for families.
Pymble Ladies’ College Garden Party
When: Saturday 19th September, 10am – 3pm
Where: Pymble Ladies’ College, Avon Road, Pymble
Pymble Ladies’ College’s biggest event of the year is open to the whole community and packed with entertainment for families. There’ll be dodgem cars, a giant slide, Cup & Saucer, pirate ship, inflatables, obstacle courses, mini golf, sports challenges and more, plus live entertainment, performances, activities, food and market stalls.
Unlimited ride passes are $40 pre-purchase or $50 on the day.
West Ryde Miniature Steam Trains
When: Saturday 19th September, 1pm – 4pm
Where: Corner Anthony Road & Betts Street, West Ryde
Ride authentic miniature steam trains at this much-loved local attraction, which opens to the public on the third Saturday of each month. There are three miniature railways, picnic grounds and a kiosk, making it a fun and inexpensive afternoon out for younger kids.
Entry is $6 for adults and $3 for children, with train rides $2.50 each. Bookings are required and enclosed shoes must be worn to ride the trains.
Orange Blossom Festival Parade
When: Saturday 19th September, 11am – 4pm
Where: Main Street, Rouse Hill Town Centre
The much-loved Orange Blossom Festival Parade returns with colourful floats, community groups and local performers making their way along Main Street before the celebrations continue in Market Square. There’ll be live entertainment, PAW Patrol appearances, free face painting, gardening workshops and an OBF-themed photo booth. A dedicated Secret Garden quiet space will also be available for neurodivergent visitors.

Eat Drink Nights Wentworth Point
When: Saturday 19th September, 5pm – 9pm
Where: Footbridge Boulevard, Marina Square, Wentworth Point
Eat Drink Nights kicks off its warmer-month season in Wentworth Point with an evening market filled with street food and flavours from around the world. September’s event launches the season with a Moon Festival celebration featuring cultural performances, festive lighting and authentic food.
St Ives Food & Wine Festival
When: Sunday 20th September
Where: St Ives Village Green, Memorial Avenue, St Ives
This popular North Shore festival is back for 2026 with a day of food, wine, live entertainment and family fun. Alongside the food and drink stalls, there’s plenty happening for kids, making it a great family day out while also raising money for local charities.
Entry is by gold coin donation.
Cabramatta Moon Festival
When: Sunday 20 September 2026, 11am–8pm
Where: Cabramatta Town Centre
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with food and market stalls, amusement rides, free children’s activities and live entertainment. Festival favourites include the lantern parade, Moon Goddess and Archer, pho and mooncake eating competitions and plenty of delicious food.
Moocooboola Festival
When: Sunday 27 September 2026, 10am–4pm
Where: Boronia Park Ovals, Hunters Hill
This much-loved local festival returns with amusement rides and games, live performances, market stalls, showbags, displays and the always-popular Dog Show. A great family day out close to Ryde.
