Tell us a bit about you and your team. What’s your day job?

My family has been a resident of Hornsby since 1996. I have spent the last 30 Year’s in Event Management, Sponsorship and Fundraising. I am a Women’s Community Shelter Advocate, Past President and Inaugural Board Member of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter, Former Director Development Women’s Community Shelters, NSW Local Woman of the Year for Hornsby (2018), Inaugural Westfield Local Hero 2018. Married to Neil with two great children – Rose and Max. Mother also to Mo, the Covid Cavoodle!

What are some things you love about living in the area?

I love living within our community and value the open hearted, generous people that I have been fortunate to work with through my volunteering at school and the Women’s Community Shelters Network. In Hornsby, we have great access to services but we also value and celebrate our bushland surrounds, history and its people.

What do you believe to be the 3 main issues affecting our community?

  1. Place Manager Strategy for local town centres
  2. Waste Management
  3. Recreation Facilities

What are the 3 key things you plan to achieve?

  1. Engage with and listen to community
  2. Support local business
  3. Consult on state of the art library and Town Hall/Civic Centre.

What about your long term vision for the area?

With deep community collaboration, strong financial management, sustainable strategies, protected bushland and appropriate development; Our Bushland Shire is destined to be a vibrant hub for people to work, live and play.

Other Comments

I am standing for Council because I have worked and volunteered in this community for over 25 years. I am invested in the people that choose to live and work here. I value a community that supports local business, preserves its natural beauty, history, and environment. I value a community that cares for the disadvantaged, where vulnerable women and children feel safe, secure, supported and equal. I value a community that comes together not only in times of need but in times of celebration. Everything that I have achieved to date, leads me to this point. The Bushland Shire is my community and I value the opportunity to represent them as a Councillor.
