Is there any better playdate than the cafe and park play combo? We think not, which is why our visit to The Bells Road Social in Oatlands ticked so many boxes. So hold on while we tell you all about it!

Located on – you guessed it – Bells Road in Oatlands, this gorgeous cafe is one to visit! Since opening in December 2017, they have been busy serving up deliciously thoughtful breakfast and lunch options to locals and travellers from further afield in need of a good meal. With a huge breakfast menu, a great variety of salads, burgers and winter warmers for lunch, yummy specials and great options for kids, there really is something for everyone. Clearly passionate about their coffee, Bells Road Social serve Morgan’s and it got our tick of approval!
The cafes’ fit-out is gorgeous, with lots of cosy pockets to hide out with a coffee and a laptop. There’s even some alfresco seating that overlooks Fred Robertson park and this park just happens to be one of the major bonuses for this cafe.

After enjoying a kid-friendly coffee, brunch or cupcake outing, gather your troops and head across the road (more of a lane-way, really!) to Fred Robertson park. There you’ll find swings, a slide, a climbing frame, see-saw, a little scooter/bike track and thankfully seating for us adults!
The kids can burn off their babycino and adults can enjoy a bit of sun and maybe a takeaway coffee (reusable cup though, obvs!).
The owners Dan and Melissa are about as lovely as 2 humans can get. Having previously owned Long Shot Cafe in Beecroft and having 2 kids of their own, you can rest assured that you’re going to get a good meal and good service with all the kid-friendly trimmings! If you happen to see them, tell them Ryde District Mums sent you!!

Getting there
Bells Road Social is located at 1 Bells Road, Oatlands where you’ll find plenty of parking out the front. Fred Robertson Park is just across the road.
