9 Local Outdoor Swimming Pools and Baths

Outdoor swimming pools are open again (as of Monday 27th September 2021)! For those keen to get back in the water, here’s a list of all the local outdoor pools. Always consider current health orders when selecting your location.

Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre

Church St, Lidcombe

LGA: Cumberland City Council

Outdoor pool is open for lap swimming only.

Current restrictions will remain in place including:
  • Access only for those within a 5km radius of your home or if our venue is in your LGA
  • Physical distancing rules apply
  • Outdoor group gathering limits apply as per current public health order, Only fully vaccinated adults can gather in group of 5 people, Unvaccinated adults can gather in groups of 2 people
  • Masks are required when not in the water
  • Check-in via the Services NSW app when visiting.
  • This is subject to change in line with revisions from the state government.
  • Opening hours for 27th September to 3rd October
    • Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm
    • Saturday & Sunday 9am – 3pm

Epping Pool

Dence Park, 26 Stanley Road, Epping

LGA: City of Parramatta

Parramatta Council is opening Epping Aquatic Centre under limited service arrangements in line with the NSW Government’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions. 
Opening hours have been adjusted into two sessions:
Monday to Friday
Session 1: 6:00am – 1:00pm
Session 2: 2:00pm – 7:00pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays
Session 1: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Session 2: 2:00pm – 7:00pm

Hornsby Aquatic & Leisure Centre Outdoor Pool

203 Peats Ferry Rd, Hornsby 

LGA: Hornsby Shire Council

Only Outdoor Lap Pool is open for lap swimming only. 

Only open for fully vaccinated adults 16+ – any child under 16 who is swimming laps must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or legal guardian 16+.

They also have some conditions of entry are:
  • Lap swimming for adults and confident swimmers – no spectators on the pool deck
  • Proof of full vaccination required on entry for ages 16+
  • Kids under 16 years must be with a fully vaccinated parent or legal guardian aged 16+
  • All swimmers must pre-book and pay online at www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/lapswimming
  • 4 swimmers per lane
  • Mandatory QR code check in using your own smartphone device
  • Toilets only. No changing or showering
  • Sessions will be for 45 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before your session time to complete the check-in process.
  • Initial opening hours are:
    • 7-11am & 3-7pm, Monday to Friday
    • 10am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday

Greenwich Baths

Albert Street, Greenwich

LGA: Lane Cove

With spectacular harbour views, a cafe and a relaxed environment, the Harbour’s pleasant waters are ideal for swimming and the facilities at Greenwich Baths cater for everyone. You may attend the Baths with one other person who lives outside your household if you are not fully vaccinated, or up to 5 people if you are all fully vaccinated. Open  7am- 5pm in September and later as the weather warms. More info here.

Inner West

LGA: Inner West Council

The following 3 locations are operated by Inner West Council.

  • Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre – Mary St, Lilyfield
  • Ashfield Aquatic Centre – 160 Elizabeth St, Ashfield
  • Dawn Fraser Baths – Elkington Park, Fitzroy Ave, Balmain

Woolwich Baths

Woolwich Road (opposite Margaret Street), Woolwich

LGA: Hunters Hill Council

The small harbour beach at Woolwich Baths is a popular spot for families with young children. There is no entry fee and there are no COVID related restrictions.
