A family friend cafe just a stone’s throw from Ryde with farm fresh meals and a kids play area!
It’s not often we find yummy, farm fresh produce turned into amazing food that is reasonably priced, with a kids play area and great kids menu! I recently came across a lovely cafe called Mowbray Eatery. It’s tucked away in Lane Cove West just off Mowbray Road.

From Ryde it would be about a 12 minute drive so even closer if you live around North Ryde/East Ryde.
Important Facts:
-
1 Felton Ave, Lane Cove West (off Mowbray road)
-
Open Sun – Wed from 630am till 3pm and Thurs- Sat from 630am to 930pm
The kids play area first – let’s face it this is a great draw card! It’s a small, gated area with soft fall ground with play equipment suitable for kids 2-8 years (in my opinion!). If you sit outside you can easily overlook the play area so your kids can play while you enjoy a coffee (and maybe a cake!!).
The cafe is run my Tasia and she is lovely and very accommodating. I have now been for breakfast and lunch with both meals equally enjoyable.
The kids menu has a range of choices – I loved the fact they do a grilled cheese on toast as it’s simple, a kiddie favourite and it is really well priced.
If you’re needing just a snack or desert after lunch don’t fear! Each day they make beautiful homemade treats including homemade biscuits, muffins and more! (I’m talking melting moments, Oreos, donuts… Need I say more?)
The breakfast menu is amazing and consists of things like toasted muesli, eggs, avocado, bacon, salmon – these images tell it all! Favs for later in the day include the burger, fried chicken and Thai beef salad! I love that tea is served in a beautiful vintage tea cup.
Parking is fairly easy too. There is parking beside the cafe or street parking in Felton Ave.
